Overview
We worked with COMCAFÉ to bring clarity and consistency to a brand that had strong ideas but no unified visual system to tie them together.
We worked with COMCAFÉ to create a distinct visual identity for their coffee restaurant—crafting a cohesive brand system from logo design to brand atmosphere that reflects their unique culture and elevates the customer experience.

The Challenges
The practice was transformative. The brand didn't show it.
Rama came to us with a compelling offer but a brand that felt scattered. A few specific challenges shaped everything:
No consistent visual language across the website, social, and client materials
Typography and color choices didn't reflect the seriousness of the work
Website copy leaned too generic, missing the specificity that makes this practice distinct
Prospective clients couldn't quickly understand what Rama does or who it's for

Our Approach
Grounding the brand in symbolism without losing accessibility.
We started with a full brand audit, mapping every customer touchpoint and identifying where the coffee restaurant experience could be elevated. From there, we built a visual system rooted in COMCAFÉ’s core themes: 12th-century Angkorian heritage, community warmth, and modern café culture.
Developed a refined color palette drawing from traditional Khmer earth tones, warm mahogany wood, and deep teal hues inspired by temple stone reliefs.
Selected a type pairing that balanced ancient Khmer letterforms (Khom) with clean, contemporary typography for effortless readability.
Rewrote the messaging hierarchy to lead with atmosphere, quality, and connection—highlighting the story behind every cup.
Redesigned the digital and print touchpoints—from menus to social media—with deliberate layouts that reflect the welcoming, contemplative pace of the space.
